For some time now, my wife has been finding excuses why I shouldn't barbecue. Too much trouble. We're going to a neighbor's house. We're going out. I just want wings. I finally asked what was going on.
Turns out she resents the fact that if it's related to barbecue, I will get up early, stay up late or all night, keep tabs on craigslist and the charcoal sales, and spend hours cooking for a group knowing I'm not making much money. She doesn't see that passion when it comes to my business. She has a point, but I digress.
This came up because we were having people over and she was suggesting pizza, wings, eating out, anything but me cooking. After "the talk" and dinner (I made burgers, beans, slaw, etc.) she said, "That was so much easier!" Since then, she WANTS me to grill/barbecue every chance I get! For once, "the talk" worked in my favor!

instead of charcoal, you just need to buy another type of coal
