Happy Father's Day to all you Daddy's out there. Going to smoke 2 packers, 4 shoulders, and 4 racks Saturday into Sunday. Then throw on some ABT's.

I wish I was born with two stomachs. All the best, Al.

Haven't decided what, but I'm cooking something. It's my day after all.

Packers went on at 5AM. Shoulders will go on at 10 and racks at noon. Will reheat tomorrow. Too much going on today and tonight to get right off the smoker to the table. Did the briskets and the shoulders a bit different this time. No slathers on anything. Briskets got a simple rub. Shoulders got a "wet" marinade. 2 got peach nectar, brown sugar, and spices, and the other two got a mojo marinade of sour orange, garlic, vinegar, and spices. Ribs are just rubbed with normal rub. Jalapenos are seeded and cored. Stuffed with hot sausage and shredded cheddar then topped with bacon.

I wish I was born with two stomachs. All the best, Al.

Here's the rundown. Briskets were fantastic, beefy, juicy, and tender. Ribs, great flavor, tender and porky. Shoulders, to me, a flop. Every one was really weird. All were cooked but not all the way tender. About 80% of each piece of meat was tender and juicy, but the other 20% was still tough. Time and temp were on, so I think it could have been the meat itself. Sliced the muscles and everyone ate and enjoyed, but to me, it was not what I am used to.

Cooked ribeyes using the ring from my Smoke EZ to make a large searing area in the middle and an indirect finishing area on the outside. Came out great! Also cooked some Yukon Golds and green beans. Good Father's Day eats!

I did ribeyes for the family. Used that old Weber kettle at Dad's house. Also "chunked up" and grilled the last of my bacon and we just munched on that as kind of an appetizer.

I MISS MY DAD. PROBABLY GOES FOR MOST ON THIS FORUM WHO HAVE LOST THAT STRONG CORNOR OF THEIR LIFE. HE GAVE ME A MODEL TO BUILD ON. HE WAS DISARMINGLY HONEST, AND EXPECTED HONESTY FROM ALL HE KNEW AND GOT IT,EXCEPT THAT ONE TIME HE CAUGHT ME COMING HOME LONG AFTER CURFEW. HE WAS DEVELISHLY HANDSOME BUT PRETENDED NOT TO KNOW. ESPECIALLY WHEN MY MOM WOULD POINT OUT SOME GAL AND ASK, AS ALL WOMEN DO "DO YOU FIND HER ATTRACTIVE"? DAD WOULD OFTEN SMILE AND MENTION HOW HE HAD FAILED TO NOTICE. "MAYBE SHE WASN'T AS PRETTY AS MY MOM TOUGHT". DAD LOVED HIS AUTOMOBILES ESPECIALLY A 37 FORD. HIS HUNTING DOGS,IRISH SETTERS, HIS GUN COLLECTION EVENINGS AROUND THE OLE FIRE PIT. MOST OF ALL, HE LOVED MY MOM, US TROUBLESOME KIDS AND LIFE .THE GOOD FORTUNE TO BE BORN IN AMERICA AND THOSE GREAT MORAL STANDARDS WILL ALWAYS BE THE THE REASON I PAUSE EA DAY TO SAY THANKS MOM AND DAD. ONE DAY A YEAR ISN'T NEARLY ENOUGH ONE LIFETIME IS TOO SHORT. THANK YOU TO ALL DADS ( NAD MOMS) WHO TAKE THE TIME TO SHOW THEIR CHILDREN LOVE, RESPECT AND HOW TO LIVE LIFE WELL..

My dad's been gone so long that I only relate Father's Day to my son and me. Thanks for reminding me to think about MY father. I don't think he'll mind if it's today instead of last Sunday.
