Harveyville, KS update--I just got back from Harveyville where I cooked with Marc, FunnyFarm, Greg and Christie, Naughtty Nurses, and Shannon, Firebug. In conjunction with Salvation Army and Red Cross we fed 300 Friday night, 250 Saturday noon, 200 Saturday night. We left them with 15 pans of pork for cummunity feed tonight and distribution to town residents as needed. This little town of 230 is showing real grit and determination in their recovery process.

Glad to see all of the effort. Dexter could have been much worse. I don't have time, but willing to donate bbq supplies and / or other needed articles. I responded to the email in this thread a couple of weeks ago and got no response. I can and will donate whatever might be needed that I have or can obtain. It's early - know there will be more efforts. Someone just let me know where and how.

Hi all, Its been awhile since I've posted here and I do apologize. Just wanted to say thanks to all who showed up from the GLBBQA in Dexter and to everyone else who stopped by to help or donate items. It was a very humbling experience feeding all those grateful people. Slowburn Steve, BBQBubba, and FullMetal BBQ really got things going and helped make this successful. OBR is a great organization, at our annual meeting yesterday, the board decided to form a disaster committee who will work close with OBR if there is future need.
Thanks again, Scott |
