Here is my wife's recipe for green beans. Fry up some bacon. After removing the bacon sautee some onions and mushrooms in the bacon grease. add the green beans (french style). Add in Cheese Whiz and cook until beans are cooked. Crumble the bacon on top and serve.

Billy -- missed your original post. Here is one, doesn't use green beans, but is a quick fix apitizer and judging by how quickly they disappear, a favorite with the crowd. Must confess, I stole this from another BBQ board (thanks, Stump). Many of you will recognize this one.
Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots Ingredients: Bacon; Tater Tots; Favorite Rub cut strip of bacon in 1/3rds Sprinkle with rub Wrap around TT Sprinkle again with rub Throw on smoker or indirect grill at 250 - 300 until bacon is cooked (30-60 minutes)
I have found that these hold up best if cooked on a cooling rack or jerky drying rack.

I have became pretty well known for my double pork and beans, you start with a good baked bean what ever one you like best drain sauce off them but keep it I pour it back over some pulled pork works out great , ok one gallon beans drained two good sized onions med chopped , around a half pound bacon chopped and browned , now brown onions in bacon fat. Now in roaster add beans, onions bacon, one good hand full of your fav. rub two hand full brown sugar two cup bbq sauce ,dash hot sauce , two big hand full pulled pork not cheap to make but man is it good

CHUCK SURELY NOT LOW CHOLESTEROL BUT ABSOLUTLEY "SPOT ON" (I'VE BEEN WATCHING OLYMPICS FROM GREAT BRITAN) MAYBE THIS IS NOT STRICTLY BBQ BUT IS A HEAD TURNER WHEN WE SERVE .. CHUNK UP HEAD O CABBAGE, COUPLE LG ONIONS AND 2-3 SWEET APPLES. TOSS IN A HANDFULL OF GOLDEN RAISENS AND SIMMER ALL TOGETHER IN A BIT OF CHICKEN STOCK. I LIKE TO ADD A STICK OF BUTTER JUST BEFORE SERVING BUT NOT NECESSARY. KINDA GERMAN LOOKING AND ALWAYS GET SURPRISE FROM CROWD THAT IT WAS SOOOO GOOD. P.S. RED CABBAGE AND WHITE HAS EVEN MORE EYE APPEAL.. P.S. MY DEFINITION OF CHUNKY ..1 INCH SQUARES OR BIGGER

The recipe sounds good
When you say "roaster" do you mean your smoker & also how long do you cook it for
Thanks

Sorry took me some time to get back to you Ed I do the beans most of the time in a crock pot cause of the pulled pork but some times if the pulled pork is left over from a past cook I will use a cast iron dutch oven and let them simmer for about two hours or until they are about to turn into mush.

Green Beans???
pre-heat oven to 425
parboil green beans for 5 minutes
drain, put in oven proof pan
drizzle olive oil all over
sprinkle with Sea salt, ground black pepper( Malabar is my go to), a bit of celery seed, and a bit of ground corriander
cook for 10 minutes
then add the zest of 1 lemon, and the juice.. mix well
then top with ground Pecorino and or Asiago like it's 3 ft snow storm
cook another 10 minutes
yur done when the beans start to brown and the chesse just starts to brown
Then put your elbow pads on, grab the biggest fork in the drawn, put the plate in front of you, look at every one at the table and say, What are you guys having?
