Where are you from?
I live in Champaign, IL, home of the University of Illinois Fighting Illini.
What do you do?
I am a hand surgeon.
How long have you been cooking?
I have been grilling for years but just bought a Chargriller with SFB this summer and I am hooked on barbeque.
How old are you?
I am 40 years old
And anything else you wouldn't mind sharing.
I have really enjoyed reading information on this site and look forward to upgrading to a bit bigger cooker in the near future.

Born in Richmond, VA. but spent most of my childhood in SW Va. Clifton Forge, Warm Springs, and then on to Blacksburg in High School.

Food Manager for Buffalo Rock Bev and Food Company (mainly Pepsi, etc)

Been cooking since I was a kid at home. First job washing dishes and then on to line cook and manager.

Finally graduated from UAB in 2004 at 41 so that makes me 45.

First attempt at real Q was practicing two weeks prior to the first (2005)Stokin the Fire Festival in Bham as Smokin Buffalo. I had never seen a brisket prior to that and now I love them. Cooked Decatur that fall and got my first call.(6th in brisket although I think beginners luck) 2 contests in 2006 plus the first battle for the bones. Started cooking almost every weekend after that. 4 contests in 07 and then 5 in 08 as The Smokin Hokie, . I am hooked for sure.

I now cook at home and compete on two WSMs

My team consists of me and my wife Kelli who is the best partner i could ever ask for( because she keeps me focused and somewhat sober for the most part,,, ha ha ha) truthfully she is my bestfriend and without her i wouldn't cook anymore. I was born on a Navy base at Oak Harbor Washington, and moved to Richland Wash. when I was about 5.

I am a teamster (AKA truck driver) transporting stuff that makes you glowI take it to a landfill for disposal, then I go home and stand by the BB-Q to get it heated up......Who needs charcoal when ya work at Hanford.

I have been cooking since I was about 16, and my parents went on vacation and left me to fend for myself. I am glad they did, cause I learned how to cook. They are both great cooks themselves so that sure helped.

I am 39, going on 40 in a couple of months. I haven't been posting for a while, but hopefully that will change. Been pretty busy round here.

Barbecuing is an art, and a helluva lot of fun. Good Q-ing to ya.
