Yes, and the year before. As a "go-fer" and a "Turn-in-box-holder"

I was born and raised in the unofficial capital of West Virginia - Akron, Ohio. I've lived in suburban Chicago, currently Indian Head Park, most of my adult life. The home I live in now is the longest that I've lived in one place since I first left the home that my parents raised me in. I've made stops in several Chicago suburbs - Ripley, NY - West Allis, Wi. - Grand Island, NY - and Toledo, Oh. along the way. I'm currently a Line Haul (Over The Road) Supervisor for FedEx National LTL (formerly Watkins Motor Lines). In my 33 year career in the trucking industry I've been a Line Haul Supervisor, Sales Administrator, Line Haul Supervisor/HAZMAT Specialist, Corporate Safety Manager, Regional Safety Manager, back full circle to Line Haul Supervisor. I've cooked since I was a kid & have eaten well even longer. Started grilling in my teens. Got my 1st smoker - a Luhr-Jensen Little Chief to make jerky and smoke fish some time in the early 1980's. Bought my 1st offset - a New Braunfels - in the mid '90's - bought a CharGriller Pro in 2001 - never got the hang of either and no longer have them. I've had a Weber Kettle since the late '70's - I'm on my 3rd one. This is my "go to" grill not only for grilling but I've turned out some decent 'cue on them. I do grill more than I barbecue. I bought a WSM earlier this year and I'm in the learning process with it but I'm happy with the way it cooks and the improved quality of my barbecue with it. I do have a lovely wife - Sue, 4 step-kids, and 3 step-grandkids. In our spare time we enjoy travel, reading, hanging out with friends and family. We are Yahtzee players and have rolled over 5 million combined points in a continuously running game that's been going since 2004. I also enjoy playing golf and on a nice summer evening taking my 1965 Mustang convertible out for a drive.

Hi, everyone!
I just joined moments ago...
I'm from that "Barbecue Capital of the World"...Boca Raton, FL!! Actually, for almost 30 yrs. we used to have an excellent joint called "Tom's Place", which has now moved up to West Palm Beach.
I'm a Library Manager for the Broward County Library system. I manage a branch in Hollywood, FL.
I've been cooking since I was a little smallness; I've been BBQ-ing for almost 30 years, when I moved to FL from NY. I started working on my own sauce and now have a rub that goes with it. I make what my friends think are excellent ribs...would LOVE to enter a contest some day (SOON! 'cause I'm not getting younger!!)
I'll be 55 yrs. old in July.
We cook a pig every year for my birthday...each year has a different theme. We've done the luau thing twice, Cuban, Chinese, Italian, and this year will be Soul Food!
I own two Chargrillers (Super Pro's)...have owned the first one for 10 years now, and bought the second one last week because we had to cook three pigs at our church (we borrowed a third grill). We cooked three 51-55 lb. pigs and fed 240 people!! That was a great experience, since many were homeless and hungry!!
Nice to meet y-all! Carol

I was born in Brooklyn, then moved out on Long Island when I was six...North Massapequa.
I see you're a little further up...
