The Georgia Barbecue Association in conjunction with the Perry-Houston County Airport Authority will hold the first Pigs and Winds Cook-Off at the Perry Airport. Grand Champion is paying $1000,Pulled Pork $500, Ribs $500, Pork Loin $500, Stew & Sauce. Also non GBA catagories, Peoples Choice, Best Site
GBA want all cook teams to come out and give us a try. We ave made great strides to revamp this association.
Also we are looking for judges.

Danny I wish that I could be there but we have a KCBS contest in Demopolis, Al. which is part of their Christmas on the River celebration. I am origionally from there so it is a home coming for me every year. I got an email from Kay yesterday, I let him know that I couldn't make it. Good luck to everybody.

I would encourage anyone and everyone to cook this one. It will be a great event. I am trying to cook this one but I have a conflict with my wife's xmas party that same weekend so it will be tough for me. Dang I hate that because it is in my home town and you know that is. Still though, It will be a great event and a great way to learn more about how a GBA contest works. It will be a fun event. to all those cooking this one, ya'll have fun.
we will miss being there. the wife and sister in law started to leave me home alone and go thereselfs.

well looks like im not going to get to this one either.we are all packed and ready to go and we had vehicle problems .i was really looking forward to being there and judging my first contest.so now i have to replan my whole weekend.

| Posting from the Pigs and Wings...cold night for all 16 teams that showed up. Everyone seems to have had a good time so far. We will see how everything goes. If any of you have cooked any of the previous GBA events, there have been some new changes made by the new president and board members. Like Buster has said, you should give these guys a chance with GBA. I look forward to it. As soon as the results are available later today, we will get them posted. |
